About Us:

At Farmwise, we’re proudly developing AI-powered hardware and software that brings immediate value to our customers. To help us continue expanding our Vulcan robotic weeding offering, we’re looking for an experienced product manager to lead a multidisciplinary development team focused on weeding performance and features. You will work closely with embedded and machine learning engineers to define, test, develop, and refine Vulcan’s ability to bring our customers value where it counts the most, in the field. This Product Manager will be a key contributor to the Intelligent Plant Scanner (IPS) development strategy which is at the core of FarmWise’s system architecture. The ideal candidate will have a keen eye for gaps in the current marketplace and an innovative mindset for filling them. This person should have a proven ability to strategize the full lifecycle of a combined hardware and software product, from conception to release.

Objectives of this role:

  • Analyze customer needs and current market trends to build out a prioritized product roadmap for the Vulcan Implement Experience set of features and functionality.
  • Work closely with the Customer Success team to build out a roadmap of internal and external tools that ensure the successful operation of Vulcans in the field.
  • Drive the product and business-planning processes for cross-functional teams
  • Assess current competitor offerings and seek opportunities for differentiation
  • Create product requirements and develop appropriate programs to ensure they’re met
  • Appraise new product ideas and strategize appropriate go-to-market plans

Responsibilities:

  • Drive the execution of all processes in the product life cycle, including product and market research, competitor analysis, planning, positioning, requirements and roadmap development, and product launch
  • Translate product strategy into detailed requirements for prototyping and final development by engineering teams
  • Create product strategy documents that describe business cases, high-level use cases, technical requirements, revenue, and ROI
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, production, marketing, and sales teams in the development, QA, and release of products, and balance resources to ensure success for the entire organization

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Strong experience in a dynamic product management role
  • 3 years product management or related industry experience
  • Proven success in overseeing all elements of the product development lifecycle
  • High effectiveness in managing cross-functional teams
  • Exceptional writing and editing skills, combined with strong presentation and public speaking skills

Preferred skills and qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in product design or engineering
  • Previous experience with a combined hardware and software product
  • Proven success as a product developer in a non-managerial role

$140,000 - $180,000 a year

FarmWise takes a market-based approach to pay, and pay may vary depending on your location in the U.S. The salary range provided is for Bay Area candidates. The successful candidate’s starting pay will be determined based on job-related skills, experience, qualifications, work location, and market conditions. This range may be modified in the future.
